What is JRPGC?

JRPGC is a community website and discord server for Japanese RPGs. Our goal is to provide resources to fans all over the world.

Who created JRPGC & the JRPGDB?

Cid (swordoftheninja) founded JRPG Chronicles and created the JRPG Database.

What’s a JRPG, an inspired JRPG, and a JRPG spin-off?

• – A JRPG is a role-playing video game by Japanese developers. These games typically have an emphasis on player progression through levels, skills, statistics, and/or experience.
• – An Inspired JRPG is an RPG created outside of Japan. Designers often cite specific JRPGs as inspiration during development, and/or such games are typically classified as JRPGs upon publication.
• – A JRPG spinoff is a game that is derived from an existing JRPG franchise, but focuses on different aspects often with a different gameplay style. These games may or may not have RPG elements.

If a game meets any of these definitions, it is documented in the JRPG Database.

What is the JRPG Database?

The JRPG Database is a collection of games carefully curated using the definitions above. It features various types of games which include, English Releases, Europe Exclusives, Japanese-Exclusives, Fan-Translated Games, and more!

Members can log in and manage games in a profile. The JRPG Logger is available to those who do not have an account. The logger saves data to your local browser regardless of being logged in or not.
